In a recent incident in Buriram, an elderly woman faced an unexpected assault from a young man, reportedly under the influence of alcohol and cannabis. The incident took place when the woman, identified as Nang Tae, aged 70, was on her way to her daughter’s house. She encountered a 40-year-old man named Nai Pom, who asked to borrow her flashlight. When she declined, stating she needed it to light her path, Nai Pom, displeased with her refusal, aggressively pushed her, causing her to fall and hit her head on the pavement. The impact was so severe that she required multiple stitches.
Later, Nai Pom, realizing the gravity of his actions, approached Nang Tae with flowers, seeking forgiveness. While Nang Tae was moved by his gesture and expressed her affection for him, likening him to a real grandson, she urged him to control his temper and refrain from harming others.
However, Nang Tae’s daughter remains concerned for her mother’s safety, given Nai Pom’s habitual consumption of alcohol and cannabis. She has documented the incident and warned that any recurrence would lead to legal action.
