Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul officially opened the first medical marijuana clinic at the Maharat Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital.
During the initial phase, medical marijuana treatments will be available primarily to two groups of people.
The first are patients that have ailments that doctors believe would respond positively to treatment with marijuana oil. For instance, epilepsy, muscle pain from multiple sclerosis, and pain or nausea caused by chemotherapy.
The second group of patients eligible for medical marijuana treatment are those that would otherwise receive Thai traditional treatment for symptoms such as constipation, sleeping difficulties, muscle pain, and lack of appetite.
