BANGKOK – In a recent press conference, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, expressed his gratitude to the media for their unwavering support and coverage of the Ministry’s activities. He took the opportunity to clarify misconceptions surrounding cannabis, emphasizing its medical benefits and dispelling rumors about its recreational use.
Mr. Anutin stated that during his tenure, the focus was on the medical and health benefits of cannabis. He pointed out that the term “free cannabis” is a misinterpretation, and the Ministry has always maintained strict control over its use. He expressed confidence that the incoming minister would continue to recognize the potential health benefits of cannabis.
Furthermore, Anutin discussed the ongoing transition of responsibilities from the Ministry of Public Health to local administrative organizations. He anticipates increased collaboration and believes that this move will lead to more efficient public services.
